Third-Party Validation

A named customer, analyst, or independent stat replaces a thousand words of self-praise.

Self-claim is cheap. Customer claim is expensive (you had to earn the right to use it). The latter is worth 10x the former in coverage outcomes.

Hierarchy of validation

  1. Named Fortune 500 customer quote — gold
  2. Independent analyst with attribution — silver
  3. Public usage data (downloads, deployments) — bronze
  4. Anonymous customer quote — basically worthless
